Play Time: 24 hours
Beginning of March 2015, ShellShock Live was published by kChamp Games — who also developed the game –, and it’s an online multiplayer arcade strategy game. It’s available for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Linux and macOS. On Steam it had its most popular time in july 2016. Since then, the players got less and less.
How the game works:
It’s an 2D-tank game. You spawn somewhere on the map with random weapons, you unlocked, and then you try to shoot the enemies. You’re always taking turns.
What you got to pay attention to is, that every single weapon flies differently. You can also turn wind on or off, so you have to calculate that too.
Mechanics:
The main-mechanic is of course the shooting. You have the opportunity to drive as far as you can with your tank can, before you shoot. Besides you can upgrade your tank in the menu, outside of a match. Overall, it’s a pretty simple and understandable game.
Graphics:
The game got a kind of simple style with little bit of details in it, what mainly gets presented by the colors and textures. The particle effects don’t make it easier to describe the overall feeling of the game.
Conclusion / Own Opinion:
I’m not quite sure about how I am feeling about this game. Technically, nothings wrong about the gameplay, the mechanics or the graphics. It does make a lot of fun to play with friends, but I think it just gets boring pretty fast. That’s why I „only“ have 24 hours game time on this game.
My score: 5 / 10
