Play Time: 212 hours
Dark Souls III was published on Mar. 24th, 2016 and is part 4 of the Souls-Series. It is an action role-playing game with a third-person perspective, developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. You can play it on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s the fastest selling game yet from Bandai Namco Entertainment.
How the game works: In principle, the game is subdivided into sections, even though it’s an open world. You explore different segments, kill enemies and cut your way through to a boss. The whole game points at boss fights and there are many people out there who would say that it’s one of the most difficult games of all time.
Mechanics: The core-mechanics of Dark Souls III are walking, running, jumping, jump forward and roll off, hit and die — a lot of people (including me) would say that dying is the one of the most important parts of Dark Souls III. You can also pick up items, open chests, sit down, perform different gestures, and so on.
Graphics: The graphics of this game are unbelievable. Everything is hyper-realistic and the colors are pale. The entire game feels extremely alive because the animations are very fluid and fitting. Overall, the game is in a Middle-Ages theme.
Conclusion / Own Opinion: My playing time probably already reveals that I like this game very much. I think it’s a must-have for everyone who likes hyper-realistic games and difficult challenges.
My score: 9 / 10
